How quarters for a cause works
HOW IT WORKS:
When you come in you will pick a paddle with a number on it. Paddles are “rented” for $2 each. There will be a chip with the same number placed in a bucket. We will also have 50/50 tickets for sale, donated items raffle, and issue special raffle tickets for wearing gold. The prize for the Special Raffle is being privided by Maybeline from Maybeline’s Creations!
We open an hour before auction at 6 PM, so you can visit the vendors and purchase food. When we start the auction, we will explain the rules and give the charity a moment to explain why we are here.
When each vendor comes to the front of the room, they will say something along the lines of hi my name is Susie and I sell product xyz and I have today for my first raffle a glass bowl. It has a retail value of $30 and I am asking 2 quarters. The people who want to bid on the item will place 2 quarters in the bowl on the table and hold up their paddle. If you are playing more than one paddle you will need to put in the appropriate amount of quarters for each paddle. We will collect the quarters. Then a number will be pulled from the bucket. If the number called is someone who has their paddle in the air, they win that item, if not we continue to until we find a match.
We will do one round with the vendors. We will take a 15 minute break and do a second round. During the second round vendors will call their table raffles. We will do Special Raffle, the 50/50 drawing, and donated items raffles at the end.
If you make a purchase from a vendor of $10 or more, you will be given a FREE 50/50 Raffle Ticket. Our vendors support our events and we appreciate when you support our vendors. Without them, there would be no Quarter Auction.
